Do you all believe in premarital counseling? Why or why not?

I believe in it but it did not exist when my parents were coming up and they are still happily married. It's a new concept that was popular a few years ago.
Personally, I am not sure I would want to go through it because either the marriage will work or it won't. I'll never forget the popular couple in the music ministry of my church. They went through the counseling and less than 7 months later she had left him because he cheated on her.

I believe in it. Caution is important though because some churches want to control you and tell you whether or not it's okay with them that you marry. That's where I draw the line.

I would not be interested in going through this. Maybe a couple of sessions, but no more than that.

I love the idea of premarital counseling. I believe it brings out issues that people would not ordinarily think of and bring them to the forefront for discussion.
